TIC for Traffic Data Capture on PDA's – create data for conditions on the road.

TIC on PDA's can be used by commuters, patrols, law enforcement agencies, DOT employees, and contractors, to create, send, and receive traffic and road condition data, directly at the scene. TIC can use GPS data from the PDA to accurately capture locations for accidents, incidents, road works, road conditions such as flooding, traffic congestion, and obstructions. The data can be checked and authorized by operators and used to inform travelers on websites, navigation devices, radio and TV, and to improve the efficient management of DOT resources with more accurate data. TIC is a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution proven in over 100 projects operating worldwide, and can be deployed faster, more affordably, and with less risk than build-your-own solutions.
