How HERE is humanizing the automated driving experience
When it comes to comfort, one size does not fit all. A comfortable ride is a matter of perception that depends on a number of factors…including how driver speed changes based on personal preference, road geometry and width, oncoming traffic, night vs day conditions, weather, social and cultural driving norms and more. By analyzing long-term location-based driver behaviors and understanding how humans drive, HERE can help make the automated driving experience more comfortable. HERE has derived speed profiles from analysis of probe and map data over long periods of time that can also be useful in road network design and operation. HERE believes humanizing the automated driving experience will be essential to ensuring people will feel comfortable enough to let the car drive itself.
