Tuesday Transportation Oddities

As many know, in the early 1800s the grid system of Manhattan streets was laid out. This required some land surveying to determine where streets and avenues would intersect. The area covered included what is now Central Park. While the grid system was never imposed upon the land now covered by the park, one of the survey bolts can still be found there.
